I take it this is directed at me?

Yes, Hermit can be a bully and ride roughshod over others. He is not the
only one and I dislike it when anyone does it.

And, as a matter of record, I do not share his politics. I am more moderate
than you and Hermit, but I refrain from saying much because I don't have
much interest and even less knowledge in this area.

I may be incompetent but I am not malicious.

I think someone discovered that you can really push someone's buttons by
insulting his mother at least 80,000 years ago. Why do you allow yourself to
be so programmable? I see no need to censure Hermit. It was such an obvious
cheapshot that he did more damage to himself than I could ever do.

Remember when we discussed this in private conversation? Remember when I
asked both sides to present their respective cases? Remember when I let you
have the last word when I forwarded Hermit's reply to you for a rebuttal?
This may come as a surprise but people that disagree with you are not
neccesarily evil or stupid.

Can you think of any other explanations for Hermit's apparent power on the
list?
