virus: fuzzy dice

I got into a conversation today about the fuzzy dice people sometimes hang
from their rear-view mirrors. Where did they come from? What an odd
memetic artifact! One of the other people in the conversation is going to
write to Car Talk about it. I encourage speculation and/or information.
