<<The CoV has reached an evolutionary
dead end--a memetic impasse. CoV memes are like the genes of Amish people
who only breed with people of their own clan since they reject the outside
society (just like we don't like meme-plexes from traditional sources). No
new genes enter their gene-pool except via mutation. Unless we run into a
more competitive meme-plex, we'd have to use lateral thinking to generate
memetic mutations that are more fit than the memes we have. Simply gaining
new knowledge (by reading books) or focusing on removing negatives (like
other meme-plexes) won't do..>>
This is the very quandary I was facing when I wrote my book Getting Past OK.
I was trying to expand my Level-2 mindset without success. What I found was
necessary to get to Level 3 was:
1. Realize that my mind is programmable and the manner in which it is
programmed (beliefs, attitudes, distinctions, and so on)
2. Find the parts of my programming that were interfering with my mastery of
and effectiveness in life
3. Become clear about my own personal life purpose, enabling me to use
lateral and other types of thinking to master a set of Level-3 meme-sets.
