The person who wrote the letter is the originator of a very
wide-spread and widely believed urban legend. A very
successful meme-spreader, and a very funny one at that.
A case of a story so good it _ought_ to have been true.
The wagering staff, being fictional, desperately needs a life
(or several). If they did exist, I don't think that having a
sense of humor qualifies them for being in need of a life..
>More concerned with Tim's reason for introducing the
>post with a reference to me. Making allowances for
There is no reason to be concerned. Self-irony is the key.
If you can't laugh at yourself, _you_ are the one who needs
a life.
>differing senses of humor, I still fail to see how

It probably was the obvious.
Although, seriously, the phrase "the trans-positating
fillifitation of ferrous ions in a structural matrix"
in the post probably had a lot to do with it. If you
still don't understand, start reading your own posts.
Or get a sense of humor.
>No, I have no relatives in RI.
We all do, it's just a matter of how remotely related they are.
By the way, it is my firm belief that most of the problems
with our civilization would be solved if self-importance could
be eradicated.

Brett, I hate using capital letters, but I've tried using
normal polite tone-of-voice before. You obviously didn't
listen. OK. Watch the next sentence carefully. Absorb it.
STOP QUOTING THE ENTIRE POST YOU RESPOND TO.
It's annoying, unnecessary and the best way to get into someone's
killfile. You only need to quote the parts of the post that you
feel you have to comment specially upon.
