Knowledge can be self negating. Belief which is not
based on first principals opens one up to the
possibility that the resulting knowledge will
"doubt" the starting belief. Doubt thus negates
belief in self (unless self is a prime cause).
Understanding reinstates belief in self through a
social, or experiential (objective), process. ALL
first principals become "doubted" as the first
principal of self is not a social priority (the
truth of the individual is destroyed for the
objective "truth" of the group). Paradoxically,
this reinstates the individual as a *secondary*
phenomenon-- that of object, or tool, of the group
ideal.
The combination of group truth and individual truth
is a prime *objective* (cause)-- this may also be
seen as a "spiritual" ideal (in a metaphorical or
mythological sense... which has certain properties
but are not "fiction"; rather, myth operates in a
fictionalized manner*). Anyway, the objective
primacy of that which is "beautiful" to both the
group and the individual is a (symbolic) rendition
of certain "artistic" perspectives, or balances
which show a foundational principal of the
relationships between objects (on a symbolic level
where objects might interact "intelligently" sans
human intervention).
