The first is "obvious". As for the second:

1 day before Hiroshima became the test case for atomic warfare, "history
shows [sic] that no city can be wiped out in less than a second."

The lack of a construction doesn't demonstrate its nonexistence. There
was at least a 2000-year gap between the use of quadratic formula and the
use of the quartic formula.
