The forums that you see listed in the general category are really just a first attempt. If you can think of any topics that I have missed, please suggest them here.

Apropos of something, there are a few missing links (to icons) at the bottom of the page... (powered by MySQL etc).

All the icon links work for me. Does anyone have trouble with the links?

This is very strange.

With i.e 6.00.0200.0000 under Windows 2000 I see place holders for:
Powered by SQL http://www.yabb.info/community/YaBBImages/mysql.gif
Powered by PHP http://www.yabb.info/community/YaBBImages/php.gif
Valid HTML
http://www.yabb.info/community/YaBBImages/vhtml.gif
Valid CSS http://www.yabb.info/community/YaBBImages/vcss.gif

But the graphics for all four are shown as "Not Available"

Having read your reply, I tried from a Unix system (on the same subnet as the Windows 2000 system).  There, under Netscape Mozilla 0.9.2.1 the graphics show up correctly.

And yes, I <em>did</em> try to refreash the Windows client a number of times. Perhaps you have different scripts to handle different clients and only one has a permissions problem?

I'll log-off and on -again and see if that fixes it, but am not very optimistic that it will.

I fixed up the template to get the images from this site rather than www.yabb.info. Did that fix it for you?

We need a forum or possibly (preferably) a user related field to post encryption keys and signatures.

How would these be used within the BBS?

    1) To allow posts to be signed (and checked).
    2) To allow encrypted messages between members

Possibly:

    3) To provide trivial identification of a user/connecting system to determine their rights on the system.
    4) To provide SSL support to an HTTPS server.

I am busy setting up a PKI (public key infrastructure)which will provide LDAP storage of user information including certificates. I'll let you know how it goes as you might like to clone it.

I am wondering about additions to the regional section. I think a London section would be welcome, though it obviously wouldn't see as much use as the US sections. It depends on how far you want to see that section expanding really.

I can add a London board now, and if later someone wants to add, say, Ipswich or Sheffield, I could rename the London one to UK.

I don't suppose we could get a forum for Madison too?

I think even better would be "Midwest" so that we can include Chicago, the Twin Cities,  and the surrounding tri-state area, not to mention snagging Hermit in Iowa-land as well.

I think that we should have a forum just for me, where I can freely espouse my views about how everyone is wrong except me, and I can be worshipped by adoring fans who want to be just like me (even though they know that they really can't), give me money, and do the things I tell them to do.

But other than that, I think a Midwest regional section of CoV is probably warranted as per Lady Z's suggestion.

Maybe Walter and I will have to get off our butts and find some recruits down in here in the bible belt to start our own regional group.

Love,

-Jake
