Topic spamming?

I was just wondering if it wouldn't be easier to just post maybe a summary of and link to an article, as opposed to the entire thing?

It would certainly be easier, but then there is the risk of the original moving or being deleted from the web. I think including a link to the original should be mandatory (it is often easier to read the article in its original formatting), but including the text is also a worthwhile safeguard (imho). Comments?

Absolutely correct.
The format I find most acceptable, and least likely to offend anyone, is to include the article in toto while placing at the head of the document, the URL, source, author and date. As these articles are provided for research and study by our membership, and as we make no claims to rights while acknowledging the copyright of the original, as far as I can see, they are covered by the doctrine of "fair use."
I strongly recommend not posting full articles to the maillist, but rather placing a copy in the appropriate BBS and providing a link back to the BBS post.
Kind Regards

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg, 1999

I complely agree for the same reasons mentioned. Mainly the risk of the URL going bye-bye. I have learned the hard about the need to do this.
