News reconsidered

Instead of posting current news stories to a single thread I would like to see each new story posted as a new topic, which would allow the rest of the topic to be used for discussion of the story.

I have no difficulty with this - indeed would prefer it. I deliberately chose no to do that so as to avoid swamping the CoV announcements.
I think we need to reorg the front page, perhaps setting up a portal which leads to the various areas, each with its own bbs and linked back to the main list?
Can it wait a few days? Typing is hard on my hands right now.

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg, 1999

Agreed. The current system is a bit cumbersome and makes tracking new posts down less than intuitive.
Not sure about the portal idea though. Without wanting to sound too much like Jakob Nielson, the further away actual content is placed, the less likely people are to get to it.
