Does the listserv still work on CoV or is it all BBS now?

[Blunderov] I sort of gravitated away from the list due to e-mail account problems which are now sorted out I think. What with RSS I'm feeling faintly schizophrenic right now.
Best regards.

I think that if you post to Virus 2006 through the BBS it doesn't go to the listserv, but gets posted on the BBS. If you post via email, however, I think it goes both to the listserv and the BBS, which is what I always try to do. That is, by the way how Church of Virus started -- as an email listserv, before it became a BBS. Some people who haven't figured that out think that the listserv is broken, when actually its the BBS that is the weaker side in this equation. I try to read both places just to be sure.

Dear Mo
Posts to the BBS do not go to the list unless:[1] The list posted to is the "Mailing List" [2] The person posting is signed up on the mailing list. As list mail "arrives" in people's boxes, meaning that they receive it willy nilly, whether they want it or not, while they have the choice of reading, or not reading things on the BBS (or can even set up selected mails on a per thread basis), some Virians (myself included) prefer to post only onto the BBS rather than forcing the delicate souls who receive their Virian fixes through the mail list to read "stronger" materials. I suggest that this means that the BBS is possibly "stronger" than what might be called the "content-light" or "weaker" mail list, even though such material is only visible to those who take the time to visit the BBS (and I suspect that such virians may be in the majority). Perhaps we should take a poll?
Kindest Regards
Hermit

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg, 1999

The BBS posting goes to the mailing list only if the author is subscribed to the mailing list. --- To unsubscribe from the Virus list go to <http://www.churchofvirus.org/cgi-bin/virus-l>
