Don't read the reviews. Just see it. Soon. It contains a few very memorable lines and a number of topical references.

Don't bother wasting your hard earned cash with this drek. If you must see it, wait until it comes out on HBO or DVD.

Well it appears perhaps I'll break this tie?
I'm finally seeing this tonight. I'm excited, I loved the comic, although I haven't read it in years. Indeed I love all things from Alan Moore.
I'm still hoping for a well-done Watchmen movie! mmm Rorschach

IMO the comics were better (and not just because my imagination is superior to cinematic effects). Nevertheless, despite Hollywood's efforts, the film has not lost all of the magic of the comics (and I think that the need to act to the mask inspired acting efforts which went well beyond the average). I don't much want to discuss it here until more Virians (from Europe as well as the US) have seen it.

Okay, I went out with an ex (from many years ago) and we might sort of have decided that birthday dinner and lotsa drinks were a better idea than the movie.
Not that that's fascinating, but thought I'd add-that's why no quick opinions forthcoming. Since I promised and wanna avoid even small hypocrisy. Next week for sure, I really am still looking forward to it!
