[Blunderov] Happy thought of the day; what if Iran already has some nukes but has not yet judged the moment right to disclose this? Presumably we will have to rely on the judgment and intelligence of our leaders in this regard.
Below is the perspicacity resume of one of them. Nothing in it leads me to believe that this man will come to any other conclusion than that his God has chosen him personally to use nukes. I think he may already believe that he was born for this moment in history for to do this very thing. I'm getting a very bad feeling in the pit of my stomach reading the news lately. There is huge backlash building in the Islamic world. Western financial institutions could go critical at any moment. Global warming/dimming is looming way faster than was previously anticipated. Oil seems to have peaked. All the bad news is so regular it's beginning to sound like a drum.
I'm thinking of starting a survival stash.

What is on trial in the United States is not just George Bush, but also his God By Lee Salisbury Jan 24, 2006, 17:51
A recent Zogby poll found that 52 % of Americans believe President Bush should be impeached if he violated the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) using warrant-less wiretaps. Of those surveyed in this poll, 25% identified themselves as "very conservative." A Republican Congress is unlikely to consider an impeachment trial. Nevertheless, a significant number of Americans seriously consider impeachment appropriate. But, what is really on trial?
Let us consider the values of George Bush.
Bush lied to America and to Congress to justify the Iraq war. Colin Powell regretfully admits he was duped into false misrepresentations about Iraq's WMDs to the UN. Bush's invasion of Iraq violated international law. The numbers of dead, maimed, and wounded are in the tens of thousands. An estimated $1 trillion will ultimately be poured into Iraq, 80% of whose citizens want America's military to leave now.
Bush ignored the known deteriorated condition of the New Orleans' levees long before Katrina struck. Bush cut funding for levee construction, watched New Orleans drown, and then trusted his incompetent crony Brownie ("you're do'en a heck of a job") to manage the chaos.
Bush's No Child Left Behind program has overburdened our national educational system and nearly gutted state budgets.
Bush's Leave No Millionaire Behind tax policy has taken a national surplus and turned it into a humungous debt for our grandchildren to repay.
Bush's Medicare/Medicaid drug plan has plunged the nation's vulnerable and pharmacies into total chaos while driving the states closer to bankruptcy.
Bush's "War on Terror" has become a war on civil rights and liberties, threatening to strip the US of its democratic values. All the while, terrorism has increased exponentially. America is no safer today then before 9/11/01.
Bush's "Homeland Security" agency's under-funding and mismanagement makes us more vulnerable to terrorist attacks on nuclear plants, chemical facilities, shipping ports and airports.
Bush's Patriot Acts I & II have shredded our Bill of Rights, taking America ever closer to a dictatorship.
Bush's use of torture casts America in the role of a sadistic tyrant making us like the terrorists we abhor, and violates the "cruel and unusual punishment" forbidden by our Constitution.
Bush's spying on Americans has turned a nation founded on reverence for privacy, free speech and due process into a contemptuous Orwellian snoop.
Bush fails to confront global warming lest corporate polluter profits suffer. Bush will allow an estimated 17,000 outdated power stations and factories to increase their carbon emissions with impunity. The resulting fine-particle soot contributes to asthma, emphysema, and lung cancer.
Bush implements unproven, arbitrary Christian fundamentalist doctrines, impairing the wall of church state separation, solely to accommodate the religious right's "rant n rave" fanaticism.
Bush is unfazed by his Republican "culture of corruption." The fraud, corruption and official malfeasance exposed at Enron inundates K Street's Republican lobbyists.
Space prohibits the seemingly endless list of irresponsible, destructive Bush policies.
All this while, George Bush gladly represents bible-believing Christianity. Millions of Christians led by the likes of Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson intercede for him. George Bush claims to make his decisions through prayer. Supposedly, Christianity's omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God has an American President representing Him, a President whose every decision should parallel this God's alleged values of righteousness, justice, wisdom and integrity.
So where is the righteousness, justice, wisdom and integrity in George Bush's decisions? Read the above list again and show me where these alleged qualities are? Is this the benefit of being "one nation under God?" Most Christian Bush supporters would rather keep playing church then face these realities. What is on trial in the minds of Americans is not just George Bush, but his God and his brand of Christianity.
Nevertheless, either, Nietzsche was right when he said, "God is dead" or God just plain doesn't give a dam! No wonder our founding fathers kept the mention of God out of the Constitution.

I lately I have often entertained the idea that the Bush administration is all about causing and allowing as much destruction as possible. The reason? This cabal owns all the right companies and businesses to capitalize on destruction. Who are all these private contractors in Iraq? Perhaps someone may correct me if I am wrong, but I have recently heard that this war has the historical distinction of employing more private contractors (mercenaries, etc.) per legitimate soldier than any other ever. The second largest military force in Iraq isn't the UK, but the private neocon forces of Haliburton, KBR, and crowd. When the hurricane blew away New Orleans because this administration refused to take the obviously necessary steps to provide minimal protection, one of the first contractors to line up to benefit was Haliburton. Collectively the United States is getting humiliated, compromised, and discredited, while causing great unwarranted harm to its own citizens as well innocents abroad, and yet this small cabal of administration power does nothing but get richer and richer off of war profits, destruction, and misery. When does this fast ride to the bottom end?

...it appears to me that the USA at large is undergoing a "third-worldization" process...whereby things like honesty, good intentions, the golden rule, and fair play move from the "sometimes" category...through the "unusual"...to "rare" ...to "the exception"...to the "very rare"...to the final category, "so bizarre that no one would believe it if it were true anyways."
...fraud is becoming much more than a cottage industry at this point...at this point very few things are "as advertised". at the end of the road is the place where Nigeria currently resides - a world where theft, dishonesty and highway robbery is the norm. With the government setting the pace, and people being rewarded for clever ruses, it's hard to imagine things getting much better any time soon.

...i sort of wouldve liked to say that. according to the 2002 world almanac...after taking into consideration birth rate vs. infant mortality rate plus immigration, the USA has a 6.5% annual increase...whereas the most notorious outbreeding countries are nothing above 3.9 % (due to infant mortality). most countries fall between 1.8% and 3.5%...assuming their census details arent horrifically innacurate, we are easily twice that of nearly all countries. and it's not the brilliant and successful that are coming...it's the people that have sucky lives where they live.

[JD] I thought you were talking about Iran's loopy president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I was genuinely stunned when I saw this was juts another anti-Bush propaganda piece (every point in that article cab, and has, been debunked).
[Blunderov] Both men are fundamentalist savages. Dubya, a son of the enlightenment, should know better. Ahmadinejad has promised genocide, kidnapped diplomats and is an avowed religious fanatic.
How can you seriously compare Bush with this guy?
>Dubya, a son > of the enlightenment, should know better.
That old classic: You are more guilty because you ought to know better. It is the one used against Israel.
Because you are a democracy with educated citizens and rule of law you are MORE guilty than the murderous rabble you fighting because you ought to know better.
I suggest that your hatred of Bush and the US right is clouding your judgement about Islamists who are in my opinion a vastly greater threat to secular liberalism than Christianity could ever be.

Not if Islamic Radicals get their way, kuffar.

I suppose that does answer the question. But to obsess over the number 2 threat and ignore the number 1 threat just because you want to be consistent makes you one of the most easily manipulated men on Earth! :-)

Your freedom or though, speech and non-worship are all "jokes" to those people.

You are happy with your echo chamber :-)

[Blunderov] I decline to be stung by your puerile taunts. My new-found resolve not to consort with torturers of either persons or semantics is paying enormous dividends for my peace of mind and I intend to keep it that way. Accordingly I decline to be drawn into a pointless game of Neocon blackwhite with you. Go and toy with somebody else.

Puerile? That is debatable. Taunts? Yes. If taunting means to harass with persistent criticism, expect me to taunt the authors and posters of articles like this (assuming I have the time and inclination - see below).

Echo chay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-ay-mmmmmmm-berrrrrrrrrrr :-)
Oddly enough I agree with you completely. I frequently read some of the political dross posted on the list and reflexively start to answer, then I am reminded that I have *much* better things to be doing. Generating cognitive dissonance in meme bots is a distinctly unrewarding activity.
That said, since I am a godless ultra capitalist oppressor, let my exploitations be on your head for not distracting me from my evil purpose.

And I decline to be instructed :-)

Ah yes, Ahmadinejad, our new Saddam, the new threat to all ("god fearing" - optional) right thinking democracy loving, freedom thinking peoples the world over.
How come the House of Saud never gets portrayed this way?
.... and Bush's murderous regime in Iraq

You sarcasm may actually be accurate.
> How come the House of Saud never gets portrayed this way?
1. They do not have a nuclear program. 2. They have not publicly called for the destruction of Israel. 3. They do not look like Egyptian taxi drivers who accidentally ended up as president of a theocracy.
Let us keep in mind that when the contributors to the Daily Kos and Democratic Underground (and increasingly CoV) talk about the America at risk of becoming a police state, a theocracy, a genocide-bent world pariah - they seem to forget that they are describing Iran as it is today.

Err...Iraq is a sovereign country with a democratically elected government.
How can the Guardian publish this biased crap from people like Sami Ramadani?
Ramadani, like Fisk, Galloway and Tariq Ali is a well heeled old Communists who has detested the USA his entire.
I am just extremely grateful that these morons are powerless and always will be (unless they move to South America and help that continent's decline to Sub-Saharan levels of economic and social prosperity).
As long as they are tied up in Trade Union meetings, Big Brother and pumping out copy for organs of the the last vestiges of the Worker's International (e.g. The Guardian), we Capitocrats can get on with turning Earth into a Brave New World of Malls and automata queuing for Soma*.

I don't believe in "anti-Bush" propaganda anymore. I know you don't live here in the US, Jonathan, and I respect the fact that you don't do the inane memebotic types of things that Joe Dees does on a regular basis. I live right in the middle of one of the reddest states in the United States, and as I have any reason, empathy, or vision what-so-ever, I can't see how anybody experiencing this first hand that still has any significant percentage of their neurons engaged in political issues can't be anti-bush. Indeed all of the pro-Bush people I've encountered lately, although they might otherwise be competant in other areas of their lives, have simply turned off large portions of their intellectual life to any serious political dialogues. Oh sure, they all act super patriotic, wave their flags, and mouth semi-liberal (and usually hypocritical) platitudes, and get indignant if you criticize the president too much, but these really are the cool-aid drinkers of the world. If I believed in God, I would have to conclude that he must love 'em cause he made so many. I still run into the occassional thinking person who likes the "old school Republicans", and still votes in that primary (mostly for the constantly losing moderates of that party). I of course ridicule them openly for their nostalgia, but even most of them aren't having much for defending POTUS anymore.
I personally view my take on Bush vs. Bin Laden as they are both really bad guys (or hopelessly in league with really bad guys) who are dependent on each other for their very political survival; neither would be successful without the other. As this is a war of intelligence and perception, Bin Laden and company clearly have the more advantageous side of the formula in terms of being able to drive international events more or less in their favor, while Bush and company have the more advantageous side in terms of enriching themselves financially in very personal and more often than not corrupt ways. Of course the big losers in this equation are the US voting public as their credibility, influence, financial well being, and economic well-being are undercut more precipitously each day through the actions of these malignant parasites. We are the ones getting our asses kicked at the end of the day, whom I keep hoping will say "enough" sooner rather than later.
Its rather easy for someone who doesn't experience this so directly on a daily basis to choose one side to the end, Jonathan, but as someone much more involved than you, I can only conclude that you have made your choice in some ignorance of this reality.
[quote author=Jonathan Davis link=board=67;threadid=34614;start=0#146356 date=1139350202] [quote author=Blunderov link=board=67;threadid=34614;start=0#146340 date=1139338901] [Blunderov] Happy thought of the day; what if Iran already has some nukes but has not yet judged the moment right to disclose this? Presumably we will have to rely on the judgment and intelligence of our leaders in this regard.
Below is the perspicacity resume of one of them. Nothing in it leads me to believe that this man will come to any other conclusion than that his God has chosen him personally to use nukes. I think he may already believe that he was born for this moment in history for to do this very thing. |
I thought you were talking about Iran's loopy president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. I was genuinely stunned when I saw this was juts another anti-Bush propaganda piece (every point in that article cab, and has, been debunked).
How can you be so obsessed with Bush and a spent force like Christianity that you appear to completely fail to take account of the rising threat of Islam and its genocide-intent leaders?
What is your take on the cartoon controversy?
Are you not worries about the horrific backlash brewing against Islam thanks to the relentless bad PR generated from suicide bombings, violent protests, 9/11, 7/7 and ceaseless oaths to Allah promising to massacred the Jews and butcher the rest of we infidels?
Kind regards
JD
