Error? Honest mistake? (what the fuck is an "honest mistake"?)
Ten years, a bunch of posts, and I get told that:

It is technical. This system is much younger than '95. The trick is that we are the ones who give these reputations to each other. So, to get a reputation you have to go and rate a few people yourself to get into the game.
You don't need to rate everyone. If you don't know who is who, you can rate just one, for example yoursel, from 1 to 9, using any criteria you like.
To do this, you log into the BBS and you go here:
http://www.churchofvirus.org/bbs/index.php?board=;action=repIndex
Your reputation starts at "5" (middle of the scale) and your posts won't be filtered. From then on, it is hard to go below "3" no matter how hard you try. I think only one has ever managed to go below 3.
The filtering was generally applauded, because sometimes people who have nothing to say insist on saying it.
