Who are we? Where are we going? What do we want?

For a deeper insight into ourselves, I propose a new virian project. A new thread will be started in the VBC section of the bbs. The idea is to write and direct a written work with contributions from all members of the CoV. There are rules, of course.

1. There has to be a minimum of 5 sentences and maximum of 20 sentences. The limits imposed because we do not want anyone to monopolise the project.

2. Please be relevant to what has already been contributed. Do not include nonsensical passages.

3. No person may make consecutive posts by picking up from where he/she left.

4. If two people simultaneously contribute a followup to the previous written thread, the person who has contributed first(according to the server timestamp) has won the right to continue the thread. The others have to understand the need for continuity/order and requested to cooperate by deleting their own entry.

Let it begin

Bonne année 2005 à vous tous.

Me, too!

Btw, my girlfriend gave me "Ancestors Tale" by Richard Dawkins over the holidays.
I'm going to give it a read after I finish up my current reading.

I propose that there is an as-yet-inarticulated element to this project.

What you are looking for is a synthesis of many brains. What does such a synthesis look like?

Instead of portion, portion, portion, in a linear fashion, I propose a different version of a synthetic creation.

Each person creates a character. We throw the characters into the email list, talking of what we would want to see. At first, we eliminate no characters.

We begin discussing interaction, plots, intrigues, context for the characters. The world we are imagining takes form.

Finally, we lay out the plot as a set of interrelated events. We cue one event and let everyone write as they see fit.

We edit it into a linear story, placing things into a timeline.

we publish.

interested?
