Who will be the tech leader in 2050? « on: 2004-07-28 13:23:43 » The latest MIT Technology Review poll: In the year 2050, who will be the world leader in technology? http://www.technologyreview.com/index.asp#poll The results so far: United States    25.2% India                23.5% China                20.6% no clear leader  12.6% European Union  6.6% Japan                  5.9% Israel                  2.3% other                  2.2% Russia                1.1% Personally I think that what this poll registers is common perceptions about the current circumstances and trends. It is a long way to 2050. We have been seeing an accelerating rate of technological progress, with unexpected utilization of many of its secondary products. We have also been seeing a mounting pressure on the sovereign State by the market forces; a lot of sociopolitical reclustering is going to happen.
