[Blunderov] I see Dubya has decided that it is incumbent upon him (as the Lord's representative on earth) to preserve what he refers to as the 'sanctity of marriage' in American law.
His use of the word 'sanctity' makes clear that he wishes to amend the constitution on the basis of a religious precept. Whither the separation of church and state?
(One has to wonder though, how many gay couples, perhaps subconsciously, wish to avail themselves of that same supposed sanctity.)
He goes on to say that he considers marriage to be a union of one man and one woman thus betraying yet another ignorant assumption; that all humans are unambiguously one or the other. He is, as so often before, sadly mistaken.

makes interesting reading.
Statistics are hard to come by, but it seems that as many as one in 500 women competitors are disqualified by the sex test...
If the physical aspects of human sexuality are so obviously a continuum (as opposed to the binary system that Christianity so fondly imagines) why should it be supposed that human psyche is any less varied? Or any less sacred?
That's not logical Captain!* Best Regards.

....bush is pretty much of the opinion that anyone that doesnt agree with all of his major opinions are not americans, humans, or even worth being alive. it's a strange consistency how "republicans" will support the "party values" to a TEE regardless of what they are. i've always found this bizarre. how can casual pundits pretend to agree with EVERYTHING their party declares as their official stand. i am quite positive that i have never met any human being on the planet with whom i agree with 100% on all issues....and yet it is not uncommon to find this act being performed by the typical republican...not to mention the democrat james carvell and others. it's sad how stupid they assume people are...and how right they are...and how willing they are to take advantage of it.

This is a ploy designed to ensure a smooth transition of power to his former classmate Kerry.
It is just like the flag-burning amendment. It's something that makes Bush look good with his core constituency, but ultimately will have him defeated in 2004 - as planned.
