I'm sure by now most of you heard that Nader is going to run for president again this year. Thought maybe some of you would like to discuss and give your opinion on how this might effect the upcoming election. Just something to get a good conversation going.

...i feel that large scale progress is made in tiny tiny increments(unfortunately). so while it is good to have Nader participating and putting some thoughts out there for people to consider, the gleaming beacon of evil is brighter than ever right now...embodied in the 'dubya'. this evil must be cast out first and foremost before we should play around with dividing our votes. i sincerely hope he doesnt affect the outcome as he did the last time around. we cannot sustain another 4 yrs of this guy auctioning off this countries people.

The question is whether choosing between two rich yale classmates who are equally talented washington pimps offers any opportunity for progress.
Will Kerry take a stand for progress? Or will he continue to do things like help slash FDA regulations to allow more mercury in tuna? (Heinz owns Star-Kist)

1. Nader has decided to run for President. 2. The race between Bush and Kerry is close. 3. Nader previously drew some votes from people who would otherwise have voted for Gore, and thus contributed to Bush's "win" (there were other factors, of course). 4. On the evidence of his actions and utterances over the past four years, I consider Bush a dangerous lunatic destructive to this country (and others) in all ways the presidency allows him. 5. I have seen no evidence leading me to consider Kerry similarly deranged.

...at this point, it's just the lesser of two evils. who are we kidding here?...the vast majority of the voting public are complete morons who are, by definition, incapable of making a wise choice. the candidates who are out to woo them, are sufficiently more intelligent, wealthy, manipulative and well-connected such that it is no challenge at all for them to tell them what they want to hear whilst secretly laughing at them behind their backs. if there are people that would truly make good leaders, they can never win because the voting public dont think for themselves, and arent sufficiently savvy to see the true intentions of the more nasty variety of candidate.
...if i were running for president of 'chimpanzee-land' and i proposed numerous well planned out, well intentioned, progressive plans for seriously improving the lives of all chimps...i would be defeated by the first crooked chimp offerring a free banana to everyone that votes for him.
THE MORAL: a chimp is only capable of making the best decision HE can understand.

Check out the following for a listing of Kerry's positions and voting history on a variety of issues. I think you'll see a lot of important differences from Bush.

That chimpanzee analogy makes a lot of sense.
So it seems the first step towards a progressive society, not ruled by vendors of illusiary bananas, must be to teach people to value their own minds, and to think freely.
One way of doing that would be to live freely ... displaying to others how this “free thought” has benefits. --- To unsubscribe from the Virus list go to <http://www.lucifer.com/cgi-bin/virus-l>

It's kind of funny how it works. The people who I think would be the best presidents, are the people who have no chance in hell. I personally do not like Kerry, although he is better then the chimp in office, I believe. I see that same kind of corporate corruption in Kerry... there are a few things about him that just doesn't sit right with me. Dean would have been the better choice, but he has no chance. Dean seems to be more honest and down to earth IMHO.
We definatately need some change in our current government and the realm of politics. It seems like even if Kerry gets elected we'll still be sinking into a hole, although, we would not be sinking as fast as we would if Bush was relected. Even worse, it seems like a chance of a revolution is next to nil. Every group pushing for changes in the right direction seems to be bashed by the media, and made out to be a bunch of crazy lunitics. (Note for clarification: PETA = Lunitics) When people see people protesting on the news, they don't think, "Wow, these peopel are passionate about this. Maybe they have good reason..." and acually think about what is going on. No, instead they normally seem to think, "What a bunch of crazy non-caring, non-patriotic retards!" Hopefully this is something that is changable, but it doesnt look promising in the least.

Well, Kerry is a member of the Skull & Bones, so my bet is on him.
Isn't it funny how an organization of 800 members provides for most of the important positions in the US government.
