We are using the new voting system (still in beta) to find the most acceptable month to hold the CoV convention next year. http://virus.lucifer.com/bbs/index.php?board=;action=voteResults;idvote=5
So far the front runner is June but we only have a quorum level of 40% so far (which means the people that have cast a vote so far account for 40% of the total equity in the reputation system).
The next related vote will be used to determine the location of Infection 2004. Please reply with candidate cities and I will create a new vote when I have at least 5 cities.

[Kalkor] I'd like to nominate Portland, OR. However, I don't know if I'll still be here in June next year, or if I will be working elsewhere (at a resort? on a boat? hmmmmm).
Seattle, WA may be a good one, but I don't know if we have too many virians there. Maybe San Francisco, CA? Closer to the California/Colorado crowd... These are all within a day's drive for me, which is good since I can't afford airfare at the moment ;-}

...indeed. out here in Van Nuys, i left several bottles of water outside on the patio with which to water my plants later. i returned in late afternoon and was about to apply them when Laura instructed me to not water them with hot water. i laughed at her concern and tested the water...certain that they would be luke warm or at the most perhaps 95 F or so. i was astonished to find that the clear bottles held water that was probably closer to 115 F to say the least. it wouldve been a fine temperature for tea...and most likely a painful bath. where in the L.A. area are you meta-human?

The first five months are good for the United States Western coastal states. If you go to California in the Summer, you would be foolish. June and July were not as bad as August, but the temperature has been an average 100 deg F. In August, it is both humid, dry, and 100 plus deg F. You would need to sit in front of a fan to breathe comfortably. That's what I am doing right now!
Spring and Fall are good times for California.
