[Jake] "Speculation" is probably the most important word in your review, Jonathan. But thanks! It's the kind bullshit that I generally expect out of those poor research physicists who lost the lottery by ending up in a dead-end field (at least from a research perspective) after the superconducting supercollider got canceled on them. So many dreams down the toilet, . . . and now they want to morph in research biologists as if research biologists never heard of statistics and math. Indeed the most "successful" among them have actually gained their fame/noteriety by resorting to the pseudo-science markets.
Well, that's my ad-hominem for today, not at you, of course Jonathan, but at this poor lost research physicist. Nothing like pouring salt in a wound, eh? Perhaps it compares to Joe's recent spontaneous ad hominem of Rupert Sheldrake on the memetics list?
But to YOU, Jonathan, thanks a bunch! :-) This kind of bullshitty thing works well in the CoV. It's the kind of crap that simply makes our world go round! Of course I do warn you about my personality disorder test. But don't worry, I'm working on controlling my psychotic condition ;-)

Hey Jake, You guys are my distributed intelligence, a veritable extension of my brain! I am too thick to understand some of these damned complicated mathmaxicalculicity stuff, but thanks to my association with all of you clever chaps, I can have the chaff burned off by scorn and the fleshy goodness left over for my brain to work on in its own slow time. :-) Kind regards Jonathan

Oh, just so you don't get the wrong impression, don't start thinking I actually understood all that or even really even read it deeply enough to do so if I were capable of understanding mathmaxicalculicity. I just skimmed it enough to pick an ad hominem attack against his credibility, but that doesn't mean that this chap is actually wrong. For all I know he's gonna win a Nobel prize . . . wouldn't that be a good laugh on me, eh? :-)
Love,
-Jake

That was cute.
I waste 45(well, maybe longer) seconds reading this thing on SARS to find out it's from:
Eric Lerner Lawrenceville Plasma Physics elerner@igc.org
AND it's non peer-reviewed to boot!!
"As Coroner, I must aver I thoroughly examined her. And she's not only merely dead, She's really, most sincerely dead."
--the Coroner of Munchkinland in the Wizard of Oz

<<Jonathan, Jake is right: "But to YOU, Jonathan, thanks a bunch! :-) This kind of bullshitty thing works well in the CoV. It's the kind of crap that simply makes our world go round!">>
<<<Amen! This is the kind of shit that shakes me out my perpetual slumber>>>
Love to ya, Jonathan. Really.
