[athenonrex] very nice...and people would still argue the world (and existence as a whole) is an ugly thing? now *that* is unbelievable.

I sent that photo to my bestest friend, and she said:
This astronaut, Don Petit, is an amazing and curious individual. One of my coworkers knows him from his pre-astronaut days and has some pretty funny tales about how his scientific curiosity leads him to wacky scenes - like falling into one of our ponds here to get a better look at some fish eggs... If you read some of the ISS bulletins, there are so many examples of how his basic curiosity, even during his spare time, is leading to neat and potentially useful observations. In short, he's my geekly hero!
