:-(
I know you all probably already noticed this, but I think it bears some explicit notice. Mister Rogers Neighborhood was the first Television show I remember watching. I still LOVE it whenever I catch a rerun.

I too am saddened by his loss. I have many a fond memory of the "neighborly old man next door". It saddens me that my son will not get to enjoy Mr Rogers himself. He taught good things and from and atheist parent viewpoint, not too bad for a prespyterian minister.
you have been FnoRded, may the farce be with you..

erm...did you know that he [mr. rogers] was a junkie for like 17 years before he started "mr. roger's neighborhood"? i also heard rumors (though this is a hell of a lot less likely) that he in his youth was a sharp shooter/sniper for the military...supposedly had a rather high kill rate. mr. rogers is gone now, and theonly thing that he ever did for me as a child was put me to sleep. but then maybe i'm just a morbid fuck.

[Joe] So? Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans were dope smokers, and they were kiddie classics.
[Michelle] I think perhaps BECAUSE they were dope smokers......
Especially helps with the munchies... my mom learned a great ice cream topping recipe from them, totally stoner - mix smooth peanut butter with light karo syrup and you get some awesome homemade peanut butter ice cream syrup.

...i never watched him; being too caught up in silly canadian tv shows like mr. dressup and the friendly giant(with rusty the chicken). but from what ive seen here and there, he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy and good human being.

Mr. Dressup and the friendly giant are gone too Now we will never know who would win if the Canadian hosts took on Capt. Kangaroo and Mr. Rogers in a death match. Unless the rumours are true and they are all in cryonic suspension.

[athenonrex] sorry, i didn't mean to imply it made him less or a person or less of a Kids Host Personality. just some weird and interesting stuff i found out. thoughi still am not sure that either of those are true. it's still a bit funny when you think about it though
