Tas6, I'm sad to hear that. Its difficult to think of something comforting to say about such things, but if you'd like to share some things about him I'd certainly read and listen. For now its all we've got to fight back against mortality.

My condolences. Always challenging to deal with the fact that somebody close to us is no longer available.

I was asked by his other family to conduct his funeral service as my brother was a Thelemanite and I was the only one one they knew who new anything about his religious beliefs. It was hard but a worthy activity. I can only say that my atheism brought me great comfort! My brothers life had grown to the point of an unmitigated hell including a drug dependency that caused his end. I take comfort daily in knowing that his hell is over and that he finally is at peace and without pain... Two weeks later a dear friend of mines Son died in a house fire and I was asked by him and his sister to conduct a memorial service for "Eric" age 13... That was far harder than my brothers, who I can rationalize and see the good behind his death but the kid, wow that is something that I can only use as a reminder that death happens and no opportunity should be wasted... We need fidelity and communion......
