Quote:In our life we try to know the truth and sometime we get it but when we know it we act like this is not the truth that we have looking for, I just ask one Q? Why we denied the truth if we don't like it??? Can any body answer me? Honestly, some ppl think I am crazy coz I wrote a thing like this. |
Because the truth sometimes undermines too many of our comfortable assumptions. We all want the truth, but when it conflicts with our sense of well being many people will choose the comfort of denial. Its a bit short sighted, but then we are still animals on some basic level.

[Mo] "the truth"?
1) Truth is an assertion made about something. 2) The validity of an assertion is dependent on the perspective of the viewer. 3) There are an infinite number of perspectives from which to view any something. 4) There are an infinite number of truths about any something. 5) The definite article is generally and in this instance (but not necessarily always) inappropriate for "truth."

Are we not still animals on every level?
Kind Regards

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg, 1999

re: "the truth" . . . I'm just using the language given me by the person asking the question. We can just as well talk about "objective reality" etc. Hermit: Are we not still animals on every level? Mo: Sometimes I think of us as extensions of our culture/technology, something other animals have in very limited if any capacity.
