How many different ways are there to get someone to do what you want? In this thought experiment assume that you want a person to enter a room and they do not want to comply initially. Also assume that the room is empty and that the person doesn't know what is in the room. How many ways are there to get them to enter the room? * carry or drag them (physical force) * point a gun at their head and command them (threat of physical force) * pay them (reward) * tell them that there is something that they want in the room (deceit) * ask them to do it for your sake (pleading) * tell them they are required by law to enter (invoke authority) * tell them everyone else entered (peer pressure) * what else?
