Virian Saints

Proposed Illumination Policy

Two criteria for Virian sainthood:

• high reputation on Meridion
• deceased human

Rationale

Mostly for consistency, it will prevent the situation where we have a deceased person rated higher in Meridion than a Virian saint. Moving to a Meridion-based process also has a few advantages:

• voting on people is already built into the system
• nominating someone is as easy as adding them to Meridion
• rating is an ongoing process that will reflect the current membership's opinion
