An apparatus with superconductors spinning at 5000 rpm is bound to produce
various powerful forces, mechanical and electro-magnetic, that have nothing
to do with gravity. These might account for a reduction in air pressure (or
an apparent reduction due to effects directly on the barometer).
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and it all sounds rather
unconvincing.
