[Joe Dees] This is Mermaid's favorite (and so far as I am able to discern, her only) tactic; to refuse to consider a position on its merits and instead engage in logically fallacious ad hominem character assassination by association upon its author. But a position must stand, or fall, on its own merits and independent of its author; this is logical Holy Writ.

[Hermit] Poor demented Mr McPees loses it again. He cannot refute the fact that his 75% assetion is not supported by a meta-analysis of polls by Gallup. He cannot refute the fact that Gallup reflected that as many Americans think that the administration has not done enough to explain to the American public why the U.S. might take military action to remove Saddam Hussein from power as think that they should go to war. He cannot refute the fact that a Gallup poll indicates that far more Americans think that we need UN approval before going to war than think we should go to war. So he lies, becomes wrought up, whines, screams and rants.

[Hermit] Given the total deterioration of his intellect (and judgment), we can hope that it will not be much longer before he is reduced to sitting drooling as he watches daytime television along with his mother, rather than attempting to destroy keyboards, inconvenient facts and the list with his fists.
