Many military were also opposed to the Gulf War and the
Afghanistan action; they wanna draw the paycheck without having to
perform the duties required of it. I ran into this phenomenon when I was
in the military; many there look upon it as if it were any other job, and
are disturbed and upset when it turns out not to be. Being in the
military means that occasionally, when US or global security interests
demand it, you are required to fight, and military personnel need to
come to grips with that or get out. It IS, after all, a volunteer military,
and personnel have a chance to un-volunteer at the end of every hitch.
