Hermit:
Having read the replies, I don't think this is the case at all. But if Joe Dees does think this, and if I am correct about the list, then I would appreciate people saying so in no uncertain terms. Simply because, it is possible that if others tell Joe Dees that his claims are false and his behavior indefensible, he might change his behavior.
E§:
Change his behavior? Can you elaborate a bit more on what you are referring to when you say "his behavior." Being a bit more specific could totally change how I respond to that statement.
Hermit:
Notice that a relatively large percentage of the list members appear to consider that taking action to prevent abuse of fellow members or their mailboxes smacks of censorship. So presumably they think that their voices should count. And indeed, Virus has previously functioned by means of group consensus correcting error. Yet I do not see members raising their voices to "correct" Joe Dees. Which might mean that there is nothing to correct, or that people are intimidated (which would defeat one of our major purposes), or perhaps they consider abusive behavior acceptable.
E§:
Intimidated by Dees? Are you kidding? Who could he intimidate? I know I'm sure not. I spoke up tonight and told him what I think. I've sat back for a while and read what both of you had been posted. But I tried to make it clear to him that I do not support his ideas.
Hermit:
Of course, I might be completely wrong in all of this. I don't think so, but it is possible. So if I am wrong, here is the opportunity to say so. And while Joe Dees might attempt to tell me what he thinks the CoV is thinking in their silence, I'd far rather hear it from the congregation myself. In my shoes, wouldn't you?
E§
Most certainly I'd want to hear what everyone else is thinking about this issue if I were you. Lets just leave it at this: I'm more supportive of your "side" of this argument as of right now.
Warm regards,
E§
