No, of course not; they are equally loathe to kill Christian human
shields, as the standoff at the Church of the Nativity illustrated. Most
Israeli soldiers are even reluctant to kill Palestinian civilians who are
being used as human shields rather than themselves participating in
attacks of some kind; the Saleh Shehadeh case is an exception, not an
example of the rule. But the people perpetrating the initial attacks are
almost always Palestinians, and the Israeli offensives are almost always
in response - to apprehend the attacker(s) or to prevent those who
planned and facilitated such attacks from continuing to do so.. Besides,
Palestinian militants might have a huge problem controlling their self-
righteous jihadic impulses; they could very well lose their cool and kill
their own shields.
Apparently, having Palestinians knock at the doors of suspected
terrorist hideouts has not served the knocking Palestinians well, for, I
guess, those Palestinians can be convicted of collaborators by a split-
second terror court of one and shot at the door. They certainly have
been shot at the doors, from fire coming from inside.
