This seems to be a not uncommon circumstance in revolutions and civilian
uprisings.
In South Africa there was a lot of this. Winnie Mandela, eg, was
convicted of the kidnapping of Stompie Sepei, who was subsequently
murdered. Seems the verdict on Stompie was; guilty of being an "impimpi"
(pimp) for the Security Police. Many suspect that she may have been
involved in the actual killing, but this was of course never proved.
She flatly denied it at a Truth and Reconciliation Commission hearing
during which she nearly reduced Bishop Desmond Tutu to tears with her
bald-faced lies.
Of course, the security forces find it easy to get the opposition to
interdict their own cadres if they can manufacture sufficient suspicion
about an individual in his community. The more paranoid the atmosphere,
the better it works.
I would be surprised if this was not happening in Israel.
Fond regards
