I wonder if you're not missing some of the economic issues. Crop yields on organic farms are much lower than on the conventional equivalents (one study suggested lower by 60-80%) in which case it would be much more difficult to attain the economies of scale necessary for reduced pricing. When Iceland tried selling organic foods at normal prices they failed to sell to a sufficient mass market to justify the low pricing.
