My thanks to the Hermit for burning the midnight oil and producing a
most comprehensive and interesting analysis of the China/Taiwan
scenario.
Seems, from China's POV, that there is probably too much ocean to
contend with!
My original thought was that, if the US were to become extended
militarily, the temptation for China to take advantage would be very
strong, but it is clear from your exposition that they don't have the
capacity (at least for now)
