Meaning "telling policy-makers things they didn't want to know" perhaps?

[Blunderov wonders]
I recall, not long ago, seeing vivid pictures of heavily armed soldiers
fishing a terrified Cuban boy out a house. (Amongst his other concerns
the boy had, it seemed to me, every reason to be afraid that the
dwelling itself might collapse from the mere drumming of the soldiers
boots.)

How much of this almost fascist determination to [em] protect [/em]
children is informed by the Christian concept: childhood = innocence,
therefore sex = damnation ?

It seems that this quality of "innocence" is held in such store as to
supercede even the imperatives of time.

Do I hear Canute laughing again?

Warm regards
