[Blunderov draws his toe in the dust]
I am ashamed to admit that I have frequently driven when significantly
intoxicated.
Five or six years ago I had an accident on Christmas eve when I was
drunk. My daughters were in the car but, most luckily, nobody was
injured. I caused the accident during a blinding thunderstorm that cut
visibility to near zero but it could have happened almost as easily
during fine weather.
The understandably angry occupants of the other car insisted on calling
the police but after a couple of hours of waiting we decided to call it
a night and move on, so I escaped a conviction.
I did not get off altogether tho: the insurance company repudiated my
claim and I had to pay for the repairs to the other vehicle myself, as
well as replace my own vehicle, which was a write-off. These expenses
were very considerable.
I was very happy that I did not kill or injure anyone.
These days I do not drink at all, ever.
Warm regards
DrSebby.
