virus: filtering-out noise

I drove a taxi in Las Vegas traffic for 14 months (on the night shift). One thing I learned, besides mental mapping, was the contrast between what to ignore and what to attend to.

That skill helps me read the traffic in this discussion group. I would encourage individuals who find self-righteousness and self-conceit annoying to simply filter it out as noise.

What's nice is finding evidence of intelligent life on Earth. It's something you take where you can find it. And sometimes even background noise is comforting...
