The ACLU, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) and the
Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) will file a legal challenge
tomorrow to Congress’ latest attempt to restrict protected speech on the
Internet. The ACLU, with EFF and EPIC acting as co-plaintiffs and
co-counsel, led the successful challenge to the original Communications
Decency Act, which the Supreme Court struck down last year in Reno v.
ACLU.
Although the lawsuit won’t be filed until tomorrow, you can speak out
against this new law today by sending a FREE FAX urging Attorney General
Janet Reno whose own department encouraged Congress not to pass this
legislation not to enforce the Act while its constitutionality is
challenged in court.
To send a FREE FAX to Attorney General Reno, visit the ACLU web site at:

More information about the ACLU’s legal challenge to CDA2 will be posted
on that same web page tomorrow, Thursday, October 22.
(This is a NEW letter! Please take action even if you have already
sent a letter on this issue!)
