Interestingly, I read a book over the summer which claimed that evolution
was based on a "traceable fiction" -- Algeny, by Rifkin. It had something
to do with the Protestant work ethic, and the rise of the ruthless business
class -- which apparently was justifying itself with something like
"survival of the fittest". Bunk, in my opinion -- but for the f.
Christians, I'm sure it's very comforting to know that the origins of this
"religion" are known.
