NLP is a red flag among skeptics as well. It is certainly with me. There
may indeed be some merit to some of its (mostly borrowed) therapies, but
for now, it is on the shelf of interesting but highly flawed and cultish
curiosities.

Does it really show us 'HEAPS' about minds? I doubt it. It is also _not_
readily testable in any respect, although I will concede some of its
(mostly borrowed) precepts have been shown to be of value in certain
situations with certain problems.

#1 among its detracting aspects is the fact that it (or something called
it) is being used as a seduction tactic. Is there anything more heinous
than the deliberate manipulation of people? Not to me. Then again, it
takes two to tango... so I'm not sure there is anything there either
besides bedpost notching.

In any event, NLP is pretty much looked at as another woo-woo
exploitation by most skeptics.
So, expand your argument- show us this heap of not "physically based and
reductionist" mind of which you speak.
