True enough. Sooner or later exponential growth reaches a limit of some
kind. That is why we are not knee deep in flies. However, Life is
essentially a competition among various replicating information bundles,
which up to the arrival of memes was only DNA based. With the arrival of
meme's the DNA is all but obsolete as a competitor. Meme's "adopt" much
quicker to the changing world. When viruses are finally defeated that
will be DNA's last gasp.
