I agree with this - Christianity is not growing like it once was, and there are a
lot of very liberal Christians who benefit us Atheists by holding their leaders in
check. Islam though is worth learning about. I read the Koran from cover to cover and
was VERY dissapointed. The Koran, in my opinion, had neither the poetic, story like
beauty of the Bible and Torah nor did it suck me in like the Torah did. It did however
pander to self-ritcheous males. Basically the Koran is about the "rules" of God. It is
a very transparent writing as far as it's purpose goes. The book is very aggressive
and hypocritical. On one hand it tells you to make peace with your enemies, in the
next paragraph, it tells you your enemies are plotting against you, so you better "get
them first".
Despite my distaste for the Koran, Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world,
and the mose reactionary. I think it is most llikely finding a place in the hearts of
those who want to abuse and control, but feel helpless at the moment. A chance to have
power over your Woman, and divine authority to be violent.
