yes indeed, but the most striking similarities are not so much wh ghosts as
with the many stories of fairies or the little people:
1) They are small 'dainty' humanoid but definitely not human creatures
with elfin like faces (well after all, they are elves.. ) , who can
fly, and live to a great age,
2) if you fall asleep in a fairy ring (flying saucer?) you get abducted
and may never come back.
3) if you are abducted you may return out of time from when you left
4) if you are abducted you will have strange memories of strange goings
on
involving odd creatures
5) they can perform magic ("Any sufficient advanced civilization is
indistinguishable from....") for example producing food, gold , and magic
devices like healing apples, glasses to see at a distance, and seven league
boots just like that.
6) Some of them like to perform tricks on humans
7) They do not like to be seen by humans
