My what a lovely flame you make, Kristee. I loved reading how you go off on this
poor fellow, not like I havn't gone off on anyone, but yours is unique. I dont
really disagree with you, but there are a couple of corrections.

I think we are ahead of where we were 100 years ago, there is a little more
tolerance and women can vote (not sure how good that is - jk). I would say that
while the people of this world are no better than before inherently, many of the
systems are more fair to individuals and minorities than they were 100 years ago
in the United States. I am not implying that there are not a billion big problems
with our society, I simply think we are slowly stumbling in the right direction.

Dropping bombs on people from miles away cannot be any more heartless than
killing someone at close range with a weapon, I would wager, that many who could
"push the nuclear button" could not pick up a knife and cut a throat. In this
vein, I do not think it any more barbaric to drop a bomb than to shoot someone,
regardless of casualties. Also, i do not doubt that had Germany or Japan or the
USSR developed the bomb first, they would not have hesitated using it against
their enemies. Aside from having the *power* to be the international bully, I see
very few fundamental differences between the USA and other nations.

The more I think about it, the more the concept of "stepping up to the superpower
plate" is what I think is in many minds in India. It's about not being a second
class country, it's about patriotism and nationalism, Its about saber rattling.
The same motivations that most countries have in developing a nuclear arsenal.
