There was a Woody Allen movie a few years ago -- was it "Husbands and
Wives"? -- in which a family dinner turns into a discussion about religion.
One character is asked, "If it came down to a choice between God and truth,
what would you pick?" The happy, likeable character replied, "God, every
time."
Maybe there is something about religious beliefs, even if false, that help
people live a happy life.
