I was under the impression basically that God ordered Satan to punish
mankind, Satan said he would not and said to God "Non-Serviam" (I will not
serve you) and for that was cast out. Also, even though the serpent was not
associated with Satan in Genesis, many people make that association. In
essence, The snake convinced Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge. It seems
obvious to me that God wanted sheep, not thinking creatures. To me, this
vanity and need for worship is not worthy of us.
