This is the best statement I have read in awhile. First, everything we
hear influinces us to some point, how far, I really can't be sure. It is
suposed, that humans have what is called shadow hearing (the ability to
ignore some stimuli in order to prevent sensory overload) We hear
everything, we just don't remember most of it. Shadow hearing is triggered
by previous memes or memorys. If you are standing in a crowded room with
six convresations going on at on time, you hear all of them; but ignore all
but one because someone in that conversation mentioned alaska, which you
just read a book about. You go for familiar things rather than strange
ones (what ever one happens to be).
