The first was the governor of Georgia when the Supreme Court ordered the
integration of the schools. He said he talked with God quite a bit to come
up with gambits for defying the court. He went on to say that the
integrationists side stepped the issue by appealing to a higher God ....
Football ..... the reason he had to cave was that the University of Georgia
was not allowed to play unless it was integrated. Its interesting that his
God told him to shut down the schools, and the integrationist's God told
them to shut down football. Could be the same guy ... but he sure took the
long way around.
Later I saw the end of a program on David Berkowitz A.K.A. Son of Sam. When
he was first incarcerated the prison chaplain said that Jesus had forgiven
him .... lately Berkowitz is saying that since God has forgiven him he's
also forgiven himself. He now calls himself Son of Hope. Great. I don't
care ... but I just wonder what the big guy is thinking .... In the meantime
I'm more petty than God and less petty than his flock ...
