Yes, they ended up titling the album "Dispepsia", it has a lovely blue and
red cover divided by a white sine wave that doesn't look anything like a
Pespi trademark (wink, wink).

Have been for a good 10 or 15 years. They were constructing songs entirely
out of samples before it became popular (or samplers even existed). They
first came into the spotlight with their "Helter Stupid" album. In the press
release for the "Helter Stupid" album they reported that the band had taken
steps to ensure that what had happened after their previous release would
never happen again. The press release contained a fictional account of a
teen-ager in Texas who had killed his entire family after listening to the
previous Negativland album. Several newspapers and music magazines ran the
story right off the press release (without ever checking to find out that
nothing of the sort had ever really happened) and ended up with egg on thier
faces.
Negativland is widely known for, in addition to their music, being one of the
few bands that actively play the largest and most noisy instrument of our
day: The Media.
