List,

Marie seems to think that another post by "Brett" will clear this all up if
"I" just confess that I am who I say I am. I don't think it will be that
easy. I have seen this type of confusion go on in another list for 6 months
and never seem to improve. The "crazy" thing about it is that these two
people who were accused of being the same person (and the whole *idea*
doesn't make much sense if you think about it...why WOULD one person pretend
to be two?)...but, the crazy thing is that after they were responded to as
if they were one and the same, their views started to reflect each others
until they WERE hardly distinguishable (like label theory, that a person
will become the type of person they are labeled to be).

My name is Brett Lane Robertson. My website is at www.window.to/mindrec and
has some background info. I have never met Richard Brodie. I am not
Richard Brodie and have never been. All of the posts that arrive to the
list with my name have been checked by me and contain exactly what I have
written. The posts which I have read which contain Richard's name have not
been written by me and do not necessarily reflect my views.

I don't know if this helps. I think it is an interesting "game" which shows
the difference in our reality perception on computers vs. in the physical
world. I personally assume that Richard wrote that he was me because he had
been badgered over the slightest detail of his posts until he was hesitant
to post...I think he saw that I was treated with less antagonism/opposition.
My defense is that I do not respond to many posts and it takes two to argue.
I think that Richard may have felt an obligation to respond and that this
ultimately hurt him (since one can always find something to argue about if
one is so inclined).

I don't think my posts are too far out in left field. I put much effort and
thought into them and have never intentionally posted anything with the
intent of trying to pull anything over on anyone. My views are strictly my
own. I expect a degree of acceptance--from slight to great--hope that no
one feels they must oppose me for any reason, and will continue to post my
own views regardless of the responses to this "experiment".

won't.

This is especially true when dealing with someone you're
