Free thought also implies the competition of those ideas once they have
been freely thought. One unfortunate result however is that, unless
checked, some memes will tend to dominate an ecology by simple virtue of
their fecundity. Regardless of how utterly useless they may be to the
general memesphere at large, if they insinuate themselves into every corner
of a ecology unchallenged, they will eventually become the dominate voice
of that intellectual ecology.
That is why I would encourge more of you to play an active part in pulling
up these memetic weeds by their root.
